A few weeks ago, I receieved a phone call from a mysterious man interested in repurposeful. Turns out, the mystery man represents an organization called RecycleBank. RecycleBank partners with local municipalities to reward everyday people (like you & me) with points for recycling. The points can then be redeemed at stores like CVS, Target, Petco and Sears, and on products from companies like Kraft and Stonyfield Farm. The more you recycle, the more points you receive. RecycleBank’s goal is to provide people with clear-cut incentives for recycling (like discounts for everyday purchases) and in the meantime, teach people about the less tangible but more significant reasons why recycling can and should be incorporated into daily habits.
As part of their campaign to inform consumers, RecycleBank maintains a “Live Green” section on their Website that showcases informational articles on simple ways to live more green. And that, my friends is where repurposeful comes in. Check it out: my toothpaste tube article is being featured right now! And in the months to come, there will be at least 4 more articles featured.
repurposeful is honored to have been chosen to work with RecycleBank and we are proud to be supporting such a worthy organization. RecycleBank is currently located in just a handful of cities in the United States and in two locations in the UK, but they’re growing. Check out this page to find our more about bringing RecycleBank to your city.
