For some reason, we own 5 laundry baskets. And some weeks, all 5 baskets are filled with either dirty or clean clothes (I have a phobia of folding clothes, or maybe I’m allergic, I don’t know). But recently, I discovered that when there’s an empty laundry basket lying around, it’s a great tool to clean clutter around the house. With two boys running around the house, toys end up in every. single. room. And while ideally the kids are supposed to put away their toys after each play session, that never doesn’t always happen.
In comes the laundry basket. With a laundry basket, you (and your kids who made the mess in the first place) can travel from room to room picking up toys, then drag the basket back to your toy bin/shelves/closet and put them back. This saves you many a trip back and forth to pick up every last lego/barbie/car.
And as it turns out, I’m not the only one who uses a laundry basket like this. Organizing Your Way has some more tips for decluttering with a laundry basket.
